Optrex F-51320 Series LCDs with a 2.8-inch diagonal viewing area for character and/or graphics display

Optrex America’s F-51320 series of 128 × 64 dot COG (chip-on-glass) monochrome STN transmissive LCD modules feature a 2.8" diagonal display area and can display text, graphics or both.

The Blue Mode version, which displays white characters or graphics on a blue background, features a 3-chip white LED backlight that puts out a typical luminance of 100 nits through the front of the screen and offers a contrast ratio of 6:1. Suitable for consumer applications, Blue Mode F-51320 LCD has a total power consumption of 0.385W max. because of the higher efficiency white LEDs used in its construction.

The company also offers a Yellow Mode version of the F-51320 series with a black display on a yellow-green background. It incorporates a 28-chip yellow LED backlight and offers a contrast ratio of 4.5:1 with a total power consumption of 1.35W max.

High level of integration saves design, sourcing and set-up time because, unlike other COGs, backlight and mounting features are both included. Controller, row and column drivers and a booster circuit are incorporated into a single chip. The use of a booster circuit ensures the proper voltage for driving the LCD panel without the use of an external DC-DC converter.
